This stunning Miami sanctuary, recently featured on 1st Dibs, showcases Tiffany's talent for balancing bold design with serene, livable spaces. One of the standout elements in this home is the inclusion of the Riddle chairs from the Piegatto collection. These sculptural pieces aren't just furniture; they're art—perfectly complementing Tiffany's flawless style and adding a layer of sophistication to the home's narrative.
Following the excitement of the 1st Dibs feature, we had the pleasure of sitting down with Tiffany for an interview, expertly conducted by our Press Manager, Byron Cordero. Below, Tiffany shares her insights on design, trends, and what it takes to create a truly luxurious home.

How do you ensure that the furniture you choose complements the architectural style and interior design of a space?
“What’s great about the design process and my approach to it is that, while thearchitectural style is considered, I love the juxtaposition between usingcontemporary furniture in various style homes. It creates a unique distinction inmy work but also adds in a sense of comfort and refinement. It’s fun to break therules and play with pieces that speak to the space and the client versus stickingto a specific era. The most important element is just ensuring all of the pieceswork alongside the story we are telling.”
What trends in furniture design are you currently excited about, and how do they influence your work?
“I’m really excited about the use of various finishes in spaces. Matte andShine. Old and New. High and Low. I don’t necessarily think it’s trending, but I do feel like designers and clients are more open to a varied collectionof pieces in spaces. It influences my work because breaking the rules isnow trending. I’ve always been a rule breaker, and it’s nice to see thatappreciated from designer to consumer across the board.”

What qualities do you look for in furniture when selecting pieces for high-end residential projects?
“I always gravitate towards silhouette and sculpture. I look at furniture as art. Pieces that have strong features and can stand alone in a space. Furniture that catches my eye is distinct, detailed, and has restraint. That is what catches my attention.”
- Tiffany Thompson
Tiffany Thompson's insights offer a glimpse into her unique design philosophy one that seamlessly blends the old with the new, the bold with the refined. Her approach to furniture as both functional and artistic is particularly compelling Tiffany mentions that she gravitates toward pieces with strong silhouettes and sculptural qualities, viewing furniture as art that can stand alone in a space. This perspective aligns beautifully with her use of the Riddle chairs from the Piegatto collection in the Miami home. These chairs aren't merely seats; they're sculptural statements that elevate the room, embodying the balance between form and function that Tiffany so skillfully achieves.
Piegatto’s philosophy, much like Tiffany’s, revolves around theidea that furniture should be more than just utilitarian; it shouldevoke emotion, provoke thought, and contribute to the overallnarrative of a space. The Riddle chairs, with their fluid lines andorganic shapes, are a perfect reflection of this ethos. They defytraditional design expectations, offering a sense of movement andlife that challenges the conventional role of furniture.
Tiffany’s affinity for breaking the rules and mixing various finishes—“Matte and Shine. Old and New. High and Low,” as she puts it—further underscores her innovative spirit. This approach resonates with the current trend she identifies: agrowing openness among designers and clients to embrace eclectic, diverse collections in their spaces. By daring to mix and match,Tiffany creates environments that feel collected over time, rich withlayers of history and personal meaning.

Her ability to marry disparate elements into a cohesive whole is what makes her work stand out. It’s not just about filling a space with beautiful objects; it’s about telling a story that’s uniquely tailored to the people who live there. As Tiffany herself says, “The most important element is just ensuring all of the pieces work alongside the story we are telling.” This storytelling approach is evident in the way she integrates pieces like the Riddle chairs, which erve not only as functional furniture but also as key characters in the narrative of the home.
In this Miami project, Tiffany Thompson has done more than justcreate a stylish space; she has crafted a home that speaks to theindividuality and aspirations of its occupants. Her work, much likePiegatto’s philosophy, is a celebration of design that transcendsmere aesthetics to create something truly memorable. It’s areminder that great design isn’t just about following trends—it’sabout setting them, with confidence and creativity as your guides.Stay tuned for more stories, insights, and inspiration from thedesign community.
